Bifold Doors you can trust

Bifolds have become the default rear-extension door across London - a kitchen or garden room opening onto a paved yard or garden is instantly transformed by 3-6 metres of glass that folds away completely.

Aluminium is the popular choice: sightlines can drop to 100mm, the sections are strong enough for very large openings, and the finish choice runs from RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey (the modern default) through to bespoke colours. uPVC bifolds are 25-40% cheaper and work well on smaller openings up to about 4 metres.

We survey every opening for structural support and level threshold options, and provide a fixed written quote before you commit. Installation is by our own FENSA-registered teams.

FAQs

Bifold Doors in London - your questions answered

How much do bifold doors cost in London?

A 3-metre 3-pane aluminium bifold runs £4,500-£6,500 supplied and fitted. 4-metre 4-pane £5,500-£8,000. uPVC is 25-40% cheaper. Fixed written quote after the free survey - no pressure.

Do I need planning permission for bifold doors?

Usually no if you're replacing existing doors like-for-like or fitting them into a new extension covered by permitted development. Rear extensions in conservation areas may need planning - we flag this at survey.

How many panels should I choose?

Odd numbers (3, 5, 7 panes) give you a traffic door for everyday use plus panels that fold away. Even numbers open only by folding all panels back. For 3-4m openings, 3 panes is popular; for 4-6m, 4 or 5 panes.

Are aluminium bifolds warm enough for a kitchen?

Yes - modern thermally broken aluminium frames with A-rated argon-filled double glazing achieve U-values around 1.4 W/m²K, well inside building regs. Triple glazing (down to ~0.8) is available if you want maximum thermal performance.
